Politicians & the Catholic Church

The Separation of Church and State––it’s almost a dogma of modern political life. Like most ‘dogmas’ of the modern world, it is wrong! Whether they believe in God or not, God made all politicians, as He made all states. All authority on earth comes down from God, not from man––whatever the disciples of the revolution may say to the contrary––and it matters not whether the form of government is monarchy, oligarchy or democracy. The ideal government would not be at enmity, but in accord, with God and His Church. In the same way, what God’s Church has to say about the morality of men impinges on, and binds, the consciences of politicians––whatever the colour of their party, and however they may try and throw off His reign.
